To invest in early-stage HardTech startups and provide seed funding to physical product and hardware companies, the mHUB Product Impact Fund I is actively deploying between 2020 through 2024 and expects to invest in 60 startups that participate in sector-specific cohorts of the mHUB Accelerator, which include smart & sustainable manufacturing, medtech, climate tech and energytech.

Filling the funding gap for HardTech and product-based startups

HardTech solutions (hardware + smart technologies) are experiencing a wave of innovation as the world reacts to the physical demands of climate, industry, and well-being. Yet, there has been a serious gap in funding for early stage, product-based startups. To reduce barriers to commercialization, the mHUB Product Impact Fund is generating investment in startups and creating sticky connections between startups, investors, corporate partners through the mHUB innovation center and its accelerator program.

Fund Details

The mHUB Product Impact Fund I is actively making initial investment of $75K in cash and $100K in services, programming and hardware in exchange for 6.5% equity. Initial investment is comprised of cash invested in each company as well as credits for certain fees related to functions or services provided by mHUB or an affiliate during the 6-month highly structured accelerated incubation (and an additional 2 years of support).

The Fund reserves a portion of its capital for follow-on investments in a select set of the startups.
