Haven Allen

Haven Allen is the Chief Executive Officer and Co-founder of mHUB and Managing Partner of mHUB Ventures, driving hardtech innovation and manufacturing entrepreneurship to strengthen the U.S. economy. Since 2017, his leadership has positioned mHUB as one of the nation's fastest-growing hardtech innovation centers. To date, mHUB has supported over 500 startups and 200 manufacturers, resulting in 1,610+ engineered products, 533+ patents, $1.89B in investments and exits, $1.57B in revenue, and the creation of 6,130+ jobs. 

Before launching mHUB, Haven served as an economic development strategist at World Business Chicago, directing the Advisory Council for Chicagoland Manufacturing and leading initiatives to support growth and job creation in the manufacturing sector. His prior experience includes serving as a Mayoral Fellow for the City of Chicago, where he conducted research and analysis on infrastructure, electricity markets, municipal marketing, and community policing. He also served as a community economic development volunteer in Panama with the Peace Corps, strengthening rural cooperatives and local organizations to expand economic opportunities. Haven began his career as an entrepreneur in the production and publishing industries. 

Haven has been recognized among Crain’s Chicago 40 Under 40 (2018), as a Notable Leader in Sustainability (2024), and by the Chicago Tribune’s Blue Sky Innovation Network of tech and innovation leaders. He contributes to national and regional policy dialogues as a member of the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago Advisory Council on Small Business, Community and Economic Development, Agriculture and Labor, and as an Advisory Council Member for Argonne National Labs’ Chain Reaction Innovations program. Beyond his civic work, he actively supports the next generation of innovators as a board observer and advisor to ten startups and small businesses in the energy, sustainability, and medtech sectors. He is also a member of the Economic Club of Chicago and the Commercial Club of Chicago.

In 2021, Haven was selected as a Neubauer Civic Scholar Fellow at the University of Chicago Booth School of Business, where he is pursuing an MBA. He holds a Master of Public Policy with a concentration in economic policy and a Certificate of Graduate Studies in Science, Technology, and Public Policy from the University of Michigan, as well as a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the University of Illinois at Chicago.
