Fourth Annual Fourth Revolution Awards Recap

The 4th annual Fourth Revolution Awards by mHUB and MxD, hosted during Manufacturing Month on October 13th, 2020, virtually celebrated regional manufacturing for its leadership and innovation as the industry stands on the brink of a new technological revolution. The virtual ceremony presented five awards to deserving leaders, companies, and industrial initiatives that have made significant contributions to the Midwest region’s manufacturing ecosystem.

We have collectively raised over $15,000 to support skill development in manufacturing and the workforce of the future through scholarships & apprenticeships for students at Richard J. Daley College.

2020 Winners Include:

  • Rising Star of the Year - Mesh++, bringing WiFi anywhere with self-powered mesh nodes. These nodes can cover hundreds of acres without using a single cable.
  • Innovation of the Year - MP-A17 Qi Design Specification by NuCurrent, the first Qi- certified, 15-Watt wireless charger design with an extended charging distance of up to 12mm - which is over 3 times the distance of the previous standard.
  • Product of the Year - The Ability Hand by PSYONIC, an affordable, muscle controlled prosthetic hand that incorporates materials for a natural grasp with sensors in the fingertips.
  • Small and Mid-Sized Manufacturer of the Year - Laystrom Manufacturing, out of Chicago, IL. Laystrom has been manufacturing metal products for many different markets since 1951.
  • Community Empowerment Award - CREDMADE by Chicago Cred, a public benefit corporation aimed at creating real economic opportunities for Chicago's highest-risk youth.

Congratulations to the winners and all the companies who were nominated for the awards. Together, we will ensure that the region’s manufacturing sector is driven, infused with world-class talent, and continues its reign as a global leader into the future.

Thank you to our judges, presenters, and sponsors who helped make this year's ceremony possible.
