Sofia loves to make things, and help people make things! Sofia holds a BS from Northwestern University in Mechanical Engineering, and uses her academic background to guide her hands-on prototyping and fabrication.
Her experience includes large scale metal fabrication, machining, production woodworking, and museum exhibit fabrication. She previously managed the student trainer group at the Northwestern University Ford Prototyping Lab, and looks forward to helping members gain confidence in their skills, solve problems, and make cool things happen.
Sofia has a deep passion for textile arts and loves to find the intersections between craft and engineering techniques for prototyping. Ask her if she made her outfit on any given day, and the answer is probably yes, and she'd be more than happy to tell you about it.
