Great products can fail—not because they don’t work, but because the market isn’t ready for them. Successful commercialization requires more than awareness or promotion; it depends on deliberate market development long before launch.
This workshop helps innovators understand what drives adoption and how to intentionally shape those conditions over time. Market development is the work that happens before launch: educating the ecosystem, aligning stakeholders, and creating shared language so customers, partners, and policymakers are ready to believe you when you show up.
Participants will explore four distinct market development contexts and learn how each requires a different mix of tactics, timing, and tone. Using real-world examples, the session examines how evidence activation, education and thought leadership, ecosystem and evangelist development, and access and policy readiness work together to build momentum responsibly.
The workshop includes guided exercises, including an Evangelist Mapping exercise that participants can immediately apply to their own innovation. Attendees will leave with clarity on where their product fits, what type of market work is required, and how to build adoption without getting ahead of evidence, regulation, or trust.
